Use the RPM readiness checklist ↓
1. Prepare an approved work queue
Use the list provided by the authorized program owner. Define the allowed purpose of contact, the information an agent may access and how a patient can decline or change preferences. A general marketing list should not be treated as a clinical onboarding list. Confirm how identity and caregiver authorization will be checked before protected details are discussed.
2. Clarify the next administrative step
An agent can coordinate the program-approved appointment or callback and identify an administrative barrier. Record whether the person was reached, requested another time, declined the contact or needs a qualified team member. Do not treat a completed call as proof that clinical consent, eligibility, education or enrollment requirements have been satisfied.
3. Route device and care questions correctly
Use device-specific support material only when authorized and appropriate to the role. Product selection, clinical instructions and symptoms require the designated qualified owner. HHS identifies patient preparation and understanding of device use as important parts of an RPM program; the provider must decide how those responsibilities are delivered for its patients.
4. Close the administrative loop
A handoff should identify the receiving team, requested task and acknowledgment. Report unresolved administrative items separately from completed onboarding steps. Review failed contacts and repeat barriers with the program manager. The checklist is an operations aid; it is not a clinical protocol or a substitute for the program’s current payer and professional requirements.
Common questions
Can administrative agents confirm clinical enrollment?
Only an authorized process and qualified owner can establish the program requirements. Administrative records should describe the action actually completed rather than infer a clinical outcome.
What is a useful onboarding measure?
Track agreed administrative tasks completed and acknowledged, with open exceptions reported separately. The provider defines and validates clinical program milestones.
